Maintenance / Maintenance Technician - George Derby (Long Term Care)

Pro Vita is looking for full-time Maintenance person with a passion for the elderly to join one of our teams to support our residents in Burnaby. 

Positions Information:

• Full-time: Tuesday - Saturday
• Wage: $28 /hour
• Location: 7550 Cumberland Street, Burnaby, B.C.V3N 3X5

Maintenance Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Institutional Aide Certificate
• Previous facility maintenance experience is preferred
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Proven organizational skills and ability to work under strict time constraints
• Legally eligible to work in Canada
• Valid WHMIS certification upon hire (maintained annually)
• Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination
• Ability to pass and maintain a clear Ministry of Justice Criminal Record Check (upon hire and every 5 years thereafter)

Maintenance Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on building systems (plumbing, painting, carpentry etc.)
• Conduct inspections of equipment and facilities to identify issues
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff or management
• Maintain records of repairs and maintenance activities
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Assist with moving furniture, setting up equipment, and other general facility tasks
