WestCana is looking for strong, experienced Part-time (Temporary) Housekeeper Lead Hand with a passion for the elderly to join one of our teams to support our residents in Independant Living in Abbotsford.

Positions Information:

• Part-time (Temporary): Sunday - Thursday, 7:30am - 3:30pm, 30 hours/week
• Wage: $27.40 /hour
• Location of Work: 31622 Charlotte Avenue, Abbotsford, V2T 3Z9

Housekeeper Lead Hand Must Haves:

• Building Service Worker Certificate and/or related working experience in housekeeping.
• Holds and Maintains Food Safe Level 1
• Holds and Maintains Valid WHMIS certificate.
• Successful completion of secondary school or equivalent.
• An understanding and basic working knowledge of computer programs i.e. excel, word and email.
• Experience and knowledge of procedures to take in the event of a serious contagious outbreak.
• Passes and complies with Ministry of Justice Criminal record Check upon hire and every 5 years thereafter. 
• Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbal and written.
• Satisfactory proof of COVID-19 vaccinations.

Housekeeper Lead Hand Nice to Haves:

• 2 years of supervisory or management experience is an asset.
• Cooking and dietary experience an asset.

Housekeeper Lead Hand Responsibilities:

• Develops & implements housekeeping/laundry departmental goals, objectives, policies and procedures
• Ensures the required standards are maintained by the department and employees 
• Coordinates the administrative duties of the Food Services, Housekeeping, Laundry, Maintenance and Reception Departments
• Assists with providing personal laundry services for care residents in accordance with established work routines.
