Temporary Dining Supervisor - Shannon Oaks - Vancouver
WestCana is looking for strong, experienced Full-time Dining Supervisor (Temporary) with a passion for the elderly to join one of our teams to support our residents in various Long Term Care, Assisted Living and Mental Health Facilities around British Columbia.
About the role:
- Shift: Full-time: Monday - Friday, 11:00am- 7:00pm
- Salary: $27.26/hourly
- Duration: 2 months
- Start Date: Late January 2025
Dining Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Oversee team communication, training, and daily operations. Lead and mentor new team members, manage team schedules, and coordinate staffing needs.
- Ensure excellent service in both dining and room service, meeting quality and timing standards.
- Offer a genuine sense of hospitality to all residents and guests, providing a warm and engaging first impression.
- Communicate with residents, management, and team members to address concerns, feedback, or complaints in a positive manner.
- Maintain strong knowledge of menus, menu ingredients, and guest preferences.
- Conduct daily checks to uphold health, safety, and sanitation standards. Ensure team follows safety, sanitation, and food handling policies at all times.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to manage food, supply, and equipment inventory, including handling the Breakfast Bar and inventory items.
- Assist in organizing special events, including set-up and fulfilling event requests.
- Arrange tables and seating for meal periods to ensure smooth service.
- Promote safety and wellness by leading daily stretching exercises for the team.
- Maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness within the team.
- Conduct regular "Crew Talks" and in-service training sessions to promote ongoing development and improvement.
- Manage guest bookings, take and serve orders, including wine orders, and perform other administrative tasks as assigned by the Support Services Manager.
Dining Supervisor Must Haves:
- Food Safe Certificate Level 1 is a must
- Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Previous Experience in restaurant or hospitality industry an asset
- Must have a working knowledge of special diets.
- Must have a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness.
- Must be able to operate related equipment.
- Diploma in Hospitality Management
- Scheduling and Staffing Skills an Asset
- Serve it Right Certificate
- Security and Loss Prevention Management
- Strong knowledge of Office and Excel
- Satisfactory proof of COVID-19 vaccinations.
